Sitrus LLC, a software services company, announced today that it became an official vendor of Microsoft.
RANDOLPH, NJ. October 21, 2009 Sitrus LLC, a software services company that delivers custom Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications to enterprise software vendors, announced today that it became an official vendor of Microsoft. This occurred after Microsoft acquired the technology assets of one of Sitrus’ long-time clients, Interactive Supercomputing (ISC).
Since December 2006, Sitrus played a significant role in developing the target of ISC’s flagship product Star-P. Star-P was an interactive parallel computing platform that let scientists, engineers, and analysts create algorithms and models on their desktops using familiar mathematical tools such as Matlab and Python. The users could run these algorithms instantly and interactively on parallel computers with little to no modification. Star P made problem-solving faster and users more productive by eliminating the need to re-program applications to run on parallel systems.
ISC was a company that specialized in bringing the power of parallel computing to desktops and making high performance computing more accessible to end users. ISC’s products and technology enabled faster prototyping, iteration, and deployment of large-scale parallel solutions.
The combination of Microsoft and ISC will bring together complementary technologies essential to simplifying expression of problems that can be parallelized. Microsoft plans to integrate ISC technologies into future versions of Microsoft products.
"Microsoft highly values Sitrus' contribution to development of the signal processing toolbox and other aspects of the StarP product. Microsoft is confident that the strong mathematical analysis and extended development experience provided by the Sitrus team will contribute positively to the future success of Microsoft HPC products." – said Vince Mendillo, Senior Director, Microsoft HPC Marketing.
