PilotFish Delivered the XCS eiConsole, while Benefiting from Agile and the Creativity of the Sitrus Offshore Team
1. Introduction
PilotFish Technology has been an innovator in the area of building interfaces between various enterprise systems regardless of their platforms, messaging formats, databases and communication protocols. The PilotFish enterprise integration (ei) product family enables development, deployment, management and execution of interfaces including the seamless and intuitive transformation of data objects in hundreds of formats, using the advantages of efficient XSLT implementation.
The XCS eiConsole is a graphical Integrated Development Environment created for the express purpose of developing, testing, deploying, managing, and maintaining interfaces. The XCS eiConsole offers the fastest, surest, most cost effective way to manage dozens or even hundreds of interfaces an order of magnitude easier.
The XCS eiPlatform is a complete Java framework that supports the high volume, secure, run-time processing of interfaces developed using the XCS eiConsole. With the XCS eiPlatform, any system(s) or services can be integrated with any other system(s) or services regardless of platform, operating system, database, or communication protocol.
2.Business Problem
Back in 2001, PilotFish Technology faced a challenging task. The company needed to deliver a robust interface-building platform based on an innovative idea, while at the same time keeping up with the high-paced evolution of enterprise integration technologies. The scope and the volume of engineering efforts for implementing the product were quite significant. This challenge created cost pressures for the young technology company and required innovative ways to engage qualified developers at a reasonable price to help bring the PilotFish platform to market.
3.Approach
PilotFish Technology made a decision to establish a development team with Sitrus, a SaaS application development company with a software development center in Denpropetrovk, Ukraine. Sitrus was recommended to PilotFish, by one of its employees who had previously worked with Sitrus. The offshore team would be expected to contribute to the core product development, building core product functionality....
